Dr Kafeel “Provocative Speech” case transferred to Allahbad HC
New Delhi- The Supreme Court on Wednesday, transferred Dr. Kafeel Khan “Instigating speech” case to Allahabad High Court.Dr. Khan is alleged for his provocative speech at Aligarh Muslim University, in December last year, against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)
A petition was filed in the top court urging a hearing to the case and his urgent release. Earlier, Dr. Khan was granted a bail by the Aligarh Court, but before he could released, Aligarh District Magistrate passed orders for his detention under National Security Act (NSA).
A petition was filed by Dr. Khan’s advocate Fuzail Ayubbi. Ayubbi claimed that his client was illegally booked under NSA and should be released immediately.
The accused was arrested from Mumbai by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force as he made a provocative speech against CAA at Aligarh Muslim University on December 12, 2019.
