Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat ji Inaugurates Paryavaran Seva Utsav at Parmarth Niketan Ashram on the occasion of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji’ Birth Anniversary
RISHIKESH: On the auspicious occasion of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj’s 71st birth anniversary and the commencement of the Paryavaran Seva Utsav (Environmental Service Festival), Chief RSS Revered Dr Mohan Bhagwat Ji, along with several esteemed saints and guests, visited Parmarth Niketan to celebrate and honour the life and mission of Pujya Swamiji, in recognition of his tireless and ceaseless service to humanity and the environment and his role as an inspiration and transformative agent in the lives of countless people the world over.
The event began with a traditional welcome, where the revered saints and distinguished guests were greeted with the auspicious sounds of conch shells, showering of flowers, and Vedic mantras. The inauguration of the Environmental Service festival which will carry forward to World Environment Day on June 5th, and began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the importance of preserving and protecting the environment.
Among the esteemed attendees were Pujya Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avadheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Harichetnanand Ji Maharaj, Pujya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Dharmadev Ji Maharaj, Pujya Swami Dayaramdas Ji Maharaj, Respected Shri Indresh Kumar Ji, National Executive Member, RSS, Shri Dinesh Ji, Saint Shri Murlidhar Ji Maharaj, Shri Ajay Bhai Ji, Pujya Rameshwardas Ji Maharaj, Pujya Swami Ajay Ramdas Ji Maharaj, Pujya Mahant Swami Gopalacharya Ji Maharaj, Pujya Mahant Ravi Prapannacharya Ji Maharaj, Pujya Mahant Swami Keshav Swaroop Brahmachari Ji Maharaj, National President of National Kavi Sangam Mr. Jagdish Mittal Ji, eminent poets Dr. Hariom Pawar Ji, and other special guests. Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and Pujya Murlidharji Maharaj hosted these saints and invited them to Parmarth Niketan for this auspicious occasion.
Dr Mohan Bhagwat Ji addressed the nation and the youth, delivering an inspiring message from the divine stageof Manas Shri Ram Katha shared that Pujya Swamiji does not need us to celebrate his birthday, He will continue to serve whether anyone recognises his efforts or not because that is his dharma. However, Bhagwatji shared that we need to celebrate his birthday because by doing so we reflect upon his life and the mission and message behind it. So, he reminded everyone not to just think this is a one day celebration but to reflect on Pujya Swamiji’s life of service and pledge to serve in whatever capacity each person could, starting from their communities.
In turn to felicitate Dr Mohan Bhagwat jia turban, cardamom garland, a beautifully framed Bhagawan Shri Ram image, and a sacred Rudraksh sapling was given to him. The celebrations then continued in the evening with a Divine Ganga Aarti ceremony followed bya captivating Kavi Sammelan (evening dedicated to inspiring poetry)
The occasion also witnessed the presence of various other esteemed saints, including Juna Peethadheeshwar Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Awadheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, who paid homage to the lineage of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj andlauded Pujya Swamiji’s efforts towards environmental preservation and humanitarian service for the nation and the world. . Swami Awadheshanand Ji Maharaj encouraged the protection of trees, emphasizing their importance as the Earth’s adornments and symbols of nature and emphasized the great awareness Pujya Swamiji has brought to this cause.
Saint Shri Murlidhar Ji Maharaj highlighted how the birth of saints has been to help bring the salvation of humanity and nature. He urged everyone to honor Pujya Swamiji’s life and message by serving the environment together.
Shri Dinesh Ji, RSS International Patron, extended his best wishes and acknowledged the profound impact of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj’s work in enlightening the world.
Mahamandaleshwar Swami Dharmadev Ji Maharaj praised Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj for disseminating Vedic Sanatan culture globally and his efforts toward uninterrupted and clean waters of the National River Ganga as well as afforestation along rivers.
Pujya Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati Ji expressed her reverence for Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj and his dedication to serving humanity, nature, and the environment. She emphasized the power of selfless service and the transformative impact it has had on her own life and the lives of countless others across the world.
Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, on this momentous occasion, presented Rudraksh plants to all the revered saints and guests, symbolizing his blessings and gratitude and reiterating the importance of us all to protect and preserve our nature.
The event commenced with the soul-stirring rendition of “Vande Mataram” and concluded with the national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana,” filling the atmosphere with divinity and patriotism.
Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj’s birthday celebration served as a reminder to imbibe the spirit of selfless service, to live a dharmic life, to share peace not pieces and make a positive impact on all facets of our lives and consequently the world around us.
